Well…. I could have never imagined that I would be writing the last Principal’s Message of the 2019-2020 school year under these circumstances. The thought of a global pandemic was something I had only seen in Hollywood movies. I never imagined it could actually happen here, but it has. I worry every day about the safety of my family, the students and staff of Hilltop, and all of the people that I know and care about. Anyone who knows me knows that my number one priority is the safety of Hilltop. I take that responsibility very seriously. I hope that everyone is safe and healthy and normalcy returns sooner rather than later.
To our 4th graders, I am sorry that your time at Hilltop is ending this way. We had so many activities for you as your finished your year. We are still talking about ways that we may recognize your accomplishments. We will keep you informed of any decisions that are made through our all-call system. I am extremely proud of each of you. I wish the you the best of luck at CVMS . Remember, you will always be Hilltoppers!
To our K-3 students, things will get back to normal at some point. You will return to Hilltop and schooling will resume. Your teachers and I are really looking forward to working and learning with you. We will see you again in the fall. (I hope.)
To our parents, grandparents, and guardians… Thank you for being outstanding substitute teachers throughout this closure. We know how hard this job can be even for those of us who have done this job for a long time. You have supported us throughout this closure and we greatly appreciated all of your hard work. We hope to have your children back at Hilltop as soon as possible so you can get back to your lives, careers, and routines.
Some final housekeeping issues…
¨ We will be scheduling times for students to come to Hilltop to retrieve personal items that they may have left in the building. We will send out an all-call once those details are finalized.
¨ If you have outstanding library books or have borrowed a Chromebook from the school, those will be collected on the same date that we allow students to pick up personal items.
¨ We will be contacting anyone who has pre-registered on our website for Kindergarten registration. We will be using myconferencetime.com to schedule appointments. If you know anyone who does not have any students at Hilltop but needs to register a new kindergartener, please have them contact the Hilltop office for more information.
As always, if you have any ideas, questions, comments, or concerns about Hilltop, please contact me anytime. I can be reached by phone at 330. 533.9806 or by email at [email protected].
